For many years, Al Peebels had a dream of making custom guitars. He had developed his skills by repairing guitars, and he decided to build his own specialized line of them. Previously, the Peebels family owned and operated an electrical equipment company which specialized in industrial circuit breakers and switchgear. Al had been a woodcrafter as a hobby, and after the electrical business was sold, Al had the opportunity of turning his dream of building his own guitars into a reality.

Al's love of guitars started in his teens, when he played bass in locally popular groups called The Creshendos and The Blue Shadows. Over the years, Al learned how to play many other types of guitars as well.

Al's son, Alan Peebels became interested in guitar building as he observed his father's work. He is also building his own line of guitars.
