"Gluing Upper Bout of Upright Bass"

This is a brief log of repairs made to a badly damaged upright bass now fully repaired. The first step was the gluing of the upper bout, as shown above. This operation was probably the most critical of all the steps involved because maintaining the proper neck angle is necessary to get the best sound and neck action on the completed bass.

Each had to be repaired, glue surfaces cleaned, carefully aligned, reglued and clamped.
But it's really all downhill from here because the hardest part is done.
